Walking and biking in Pembroke Pines: the Chapel Trail boardwalk, the 1/3-mile Dream Park loop, Rainbow Park's quarter-mile path, Linear Park and county trails.

Last checked Oct. 10, 2026. Every city park below is from the City of Pembroke Pines facilities directory; distances are as the city lists them. County parks are from Broward County Parks. Recreation and Cultural Arts Department: 954-392-2130.

Pembroke Pines is flat, built around lakes and canals, and its trails are mostly short park loops, not long greenways. The standout is the boardwalk at Chapel Trail Park Nature Preserve on the city’s western edge. For a measured loop, Dream Park’s 1/3-mile path and Rainbow Park’s quarter-mile path are the ones the city publishes distances for. Our parks and trails page covers the athletic parks; this page is for walkers, runners and riders.

Bring water and go early in the day in summer.

Burrowing owls

The owl in our photograph was taken in Pembroke Pines, and burrowing owls have also been photographed at Brian Piccolo Sports Park, a stop on the state birding trail. Give any burrow a wide berth and keep dogs leashed.
