New Year's Eve 2026 in Pembroke Pines: Florida's fireworks rule for Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, City Hall and library hours, trash pickup and what is announced.

Last checked Oct. 10, 2026. This page is updated each year at the same address. New Year’s Eve is Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, and New Year’s Day falls on Friday, Jan. 1, 2027. The City of Pembroke Pines does not hold a New Year’s Eve event, and none of the venues we track had announced one when we checked. What residents most often ask about is fireworks, and Florida law answers that: backyard fireworks are allowed on both days.

Who to call

  • Pembroke Pines Police non-emergency: 954-431-2200 (emergencies: 911)
  • City Hall main line: 954-450-1060
  • Waste Pro USA (household trash): 954-967-4200

Fireworks: what the law allows

Florida’s fireworks law, section 791.08, lets people use fireworks “solely and exclusively during a designated holiday.” The three designated holidays are:

  • New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31
  • New Year’s Day, Jan. 1
  • Independence Day, July 4

Two limits are written into the same section. It does not override a fireworks ban in a legally recorded homeowners association covenant, so check your community’s documents. And it does not supersede local fireworks regulation allowed under state law. A homeowners association board cannot adopt a new rule to take away the holiday right.

The city’s own fireworks show is on the Fourth of July; see our Fourth of July fireworks page.
