Pembroke Pines Charter Elementary is the kindergarten to grade 5 school of the City of Pembroke Pines Charter School System, the public charter schools the city itself runs. Florida grades it as one school (state school number 5051), taught on three campuses across Pembroke Pines. Charter schools are tuition-free public schools sponsored by Broward County Public Schools and run by their own governing boards. They have no attendance zones; families apply to each school.

How admission works

The City of Pembroke Pines Charter School System fills seats by lottery. Its Apply/Re-Register page says lottery applications for the 2027-28 school year are accepted from Jan. 4 through Feb. 10, 2027, that “all Florida residents are welcome to apply,” and that families who applied last year must resubmit to keep their place on the waiting list. Seat offers are made by email through the system’s parent portal. The system’s history page says it had a waiting list of 4,361 applicants.

The City of Pembroke Pines Charter School System is run by the city: its governing board is the City Commission, according to the system’s about page. The system’s history page says the city opened its own charter schools in the 1990s to ease crowding in Broward’s district schools.

Enrollment and teachers

  • District count: 2,047 students on Aug. 21, 2026, the 10th day of the 2026-27 school year. That is four fewer than on the same day in 2025, according to the district’s Tenth Day Enrollment Count.
  • Federal count: 1,904 students in the 2023-24 school year, with 84 full-time-equivalent teachers, according to the NCES directory. That works out to about 23 students per teacher.

State report card

Florida grades every public school A to F. A school’s grade is the share of possible points it earns on state test results, learning gains and, for high schools, the graduation rate and college and career acceleration. The state’s 2026 file sets an A for an elementary school at 62% of points or more.

School year Grade
2025-26 A (76% of possible points)
2024-25 A
2023-24 A

From the state’s 2026 school grades file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:

  • Third-grade English language arts: 83%
  • English language arts: 84%
  • Math: 88%
  • Science: 75%

The full report card is on the state’s Florida school report cards site. The state’s report card is an interactive dashboard; the figures above come from the downloadable grades file.

The FSU Campus

The system’s campus page also lists an FSU Campus for kindergarten to grade 5 at 601 SW 172nd Ave., 954-499-4244. It does not appear under state school number 5051 in the Broward district’s enrollment count or grades file, and the system’s history page counts four elementary schools in all; ask the campus how it is graded and how its lottery works.

Calendar and hours

The system publishes its own calendars. The FSU Campus and Academic Village websites we checked list Monday, Oct. 12, as a day with no school for students, the same as the district calendar.
