State report card
Florida grades every public school A to F. A school’s grade is the share of possible points it earns on state test results, learning gains and, for high schools, the graduation rate and college and career acceleration. The state’s 2026 file sets an A for a middle school at 64% of points or more.
| School year | Grade |
|---|---|
| 2025-26 | A (70% of possible points) |
| 2024-25 | A |
| 2023-24 | A |
From the state’s 2026 school grades file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:
- English language arts: 73%
- Math: 75%
- Science: 66%
- Social studies: 82%
- Middle school acceleration (a state grading component): 92%

Attendance zone and feeder schools
Check any address with the district’s Find My School tool or the Silver Trail Middle zone map (PDF).
The 2026-27 change. The School Board’s Jan. 21, 2026, feeder change moved the part of the Walter C. Young Middle zone west of Interstate 75 to Silver Trail, according to the district’s May 12 Redefining Our Schools update (PDF) and the zone map. In Pembroke Pines that area is the Silver Palms Elementary zone. Middle school students living in the Everglades land west of I-75, out to the Miami-Dade County line, are also assigned to Silver Trail.
Feeder schools. Comparing the district’s boundaries, the Silver Trail zone takes in the Hawkes Bluff Elementary zone in Davie and Southwest Ranches, part of the Manatee Bay zone, and the Chapel Trail and Silver Palms zones in Pembroke Pines. Chapel Trail and Silver Palms took in the old Panther Run Elementary zone, closed in 2026. The whole Silver Trail zone goes on to West Broward High.
Broward County’s boundary map data still draws the zones as they were before the 2026-27 changes, so the feeder patterns on this page apply the district’s 2026-27 changes to that data; the district’s zone maps and Find My School tool are the authority for any address.
What is proposed next. One option in the district’s Oct. 6 workshop presentation (PDF) for Walter C. Young Middle would move its students into Pines Collegiate Academy 6-12 and Silver Trail. The district plans final Redefining Our Schools recommendations in November and School Board decisions in December 2026.
